  • It is one of the 16 Mahajanpads from the Puranas.
  • It is the present Munger and Bhagalpur districts of Bihar.
  • Its capital was Champa.
  • Mahabharata has a reference that for the demonstration of the war skills of Kaurava princes, Drona organised a competition in Hastinapur. Arjuna was the best archer. Here Karna challenged Arjuna but Krapacharya declined stating that Karna was not a prince, hence cannot participate.
