• Jaimini was an ancient rishi (sage), a disciple of the great Rishi Vyas, the son of Rishi Parashar.
• He is said to have received the Samved from his master.
• He was also the founder of the Purvmimansa philosophy.
• Jaimini was present at the serpent sacrifice of Janmejay.
