Rup Sanatan Gaudiya Math / रूप सनातन गौड़ीय मठ
Shri Vinod Kunj / श्री विनोद कुंज
- This Math lies on Dana-gall, very close to Shri Sevakunj, the heart of Vrindavan, and has become a famous place for darshan.
- Prem Purusottam Shri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, the ocean of mercy, sent the brothers Shri Rup Goswami and Shri Sanatan Goswami to Shri Vrindavan to
(1) Re-establish the lost places of pastimes in Shri Vrindavan,
(2) Establish deities,
(3) Compose literatures on bhakti and
(4) Establish vaishnava-sadachara, or proper vaishnava behaviour (smrti).
- By the causeless mercy and encouragement of Shriman Mahaprabhu, Shri Rup and Shri Sanatan Goswamis established Shri Govind Deo and Shri Madan Mohan, re-discovered lost places of pilgrimage (tirthas), and composed vaishnava-smriti and bhakti texts like Brhad-bhagvatamrita, Laghu-bhagvatamrita, Bhakti-rasamrita-sindhu, Ujjvala-nilamani and Hari-bhakti-vilas.
- To keep alive the memory of Shri Rup Goswami and Shri Sanatan Goswami, who fulfilled Shriman Mahaprabhu's inner heart's desire, or mano'bhista, Shri Shrimad Bhaktivedanta Vaman Goswami Maharaja and the author established this math.
- They did this under the inspiration of the founder of Shri Gaudiya Vedanta Samiti, nitya-lila pravista om vishnupada astottara-sata Shri Shrimad Bhakti Pragyan Keshav Goswami Maharaja, and under the direction of the members of Shri Gaudiya Vedant Samiti.
- The distinguishing feature of this Math is the presence of Shri Vrinda Devi in one of the three sections (prakosthas) of the altar.
- In the remaining two sections are Shri Gaurasundara along with Shri Radha-Vinod-bihariji and gurupadapadma Shrila Bhakti Pragyan Keshav Goswami Maharaja.
- At the present time, the only other prominent deity of Shrimati Vrinda-devi can be found in Kamyavan.
