अंग / Anga
It is one of the 16 Mahajanpads from the Puranas. It is the present Munger and Bhagalpur districts of Bihar. Its capital was Champa. Mahabharata has a reference that for the demonstration of the war skills of Kaurava princes, Drona organised a competition in Hastinapur. Arjuna was the best archer. Here Karna challenged Arjuna but Krapacharya declined stating that Karna was not a prince, hence cannot participate. Duryodhana announced Karna as the king of Anga.
