Ganesha / गणेश

Ganesha
  • Ganesha is the god of obstacles, son of Shiv and Parvati, and brother of Kartikeya.
  • He was appointed chief of Shiv's attendants.
  • His vehicle is a rat.
  • Once when Parvati was bathing, she kept Ganesh on guard at the door and told him not to let anyone enter the house. Shiv arrived unexpectedly, but Ganesh, obeying his mother's orders, did not allow Shiv to go in. At this Shiv got angry and cut off his head. When his anger cooled off, he replaced Ganesh's head with that of an elephant.
