Kanva / कण्व
- Kanva was a Rishi who found the abandoned child (Shakuntala) of Vishvamitra and Menka in the forest and brought her up in his hermitage.
- He was later the priest of King Bharat, son of Shakuntala.
- Kanva is also said to be the author of the eighth Mandal of the Rigved.
