Manthara / मंथरा

  • Manthara was an ugly, hunch-backed maid of queen Kaikeyi, who stirred up her mistress's jealousy against Ram and led her to persuade king Dashrath to banish Ram from the kingdom.
  • Shatrughna beat her and threatened to kill her, but she was saved by his brother Bharat.
  • Manthara was the incarnation of the Gandharvs Dundubhi.
