Muchukund / मुचुकुन्द

  • Muchukund was a king. Muchukund rendered assistance to the gods in their wars with the Asurs or demons and he obtained from Indra as a reward, the boon of a long uninterrupted sleep.
  • Whosoever disturbed him would be burnt to ashes by a look.
  • Muchukund then retired into a cave in a dense forest where he was sure not to be disturbed by anybody.
  • A king named Kalyavan was lured into this cave by Krishna, and the former woke the sleeper, who cast a fiery glance upon the intruder and destroyed him.
