Radha Raman Temple / राधा रमण मन्दिर

According to the book 'Seva Prakatya, Radha Raman manifested from the salagrama shila in samvat 1599 (1543 AD). His abhishek took place on Purnima in the month of Vaishakha (April–May) that same year.

  • Adjacent to the temple of Shri Radha-Raman, to the south, is the samadhi of Shri Gopal Bhatt Goswami and the place where Radha-Raman appeared. Unlike other deities, Shri Radha-Raman never left Vrindavan.
  • Shri Radha Raman is the deity of Shri Gopal Bhatt Goswami, the recipient of Shriman Mahaprabhu's mercy. Shri Bhatt Goswami initially served and worshipped a salagrama-shila.
  • Once, he intensely desired to decorate his salagrama, to seat Him on a swing and sway Him back and forth, and to serve Him in many ways like a deity. "If only He had arms and legs like a deity," he thought.
  • Prabhu is very kind to His devotees. To fulfil the desire of this bhakta, He transformed Himself that very night into the attractive threefold-bending form of Shri Radha-Raman.
  • Shri Bhatt Goswami decorated Him with many ornaments, swung Him on a swing and offered food preparations with great affection. If one has darshan of Shri Radha-Raman's back, one will see that it resembles a salagrama-shila.
  • Although the deity is only twelve finger-widths tall, He is very attractive. Shri Radha-Raman's lotus face is like Shri Govind Deo's, His chest is like Shri Gopinath's, and His lotus feet are like Shri Madan Mohan's. By taking His darshan, one receives the benefit of taking darshan of these three deities.
  • According to the book Seva-prakatya, Radha-Raman manifested from the salagrama-shila in samvat 1599 (1543 AD). His abhisheka took place on Purnima in the month of Vaishakha (April–May) that same year.
  • There is no deity of Shri Radha with Radha-Raman, but a gomati-chakra is worshipped on the altar to His left. According to an injunction in Shri Hari-bhakti-vilasa, a gomati-chakra is to be worshipped along with a salagrama-shila.
