Takshashila / तक्षशिला

  • Takshashila was a city of Gandhar.
  • It was the residence of Taksh, son of Bharat and nephew of Ram.
  • After Taksh captured Gandhar, Bharat built the city of Takshashila and installed his son here as king.
  • In the times of the Mahabharat, Takshashila was the site of the famous serpent sacrifice of king Janmejay of Hastinapur.
