Vichitravirya / विचित्रवीर्य
- Vichitravirya was a king of the lunar dynasty, son of Shantanu by his wife Satyavati, brother of Chitrangad and half-brother of Bhishma.
- He was married to Ambika and [[Ambalika], the princesses of Kashi.
- After the death of Chitrangad, Vichitravirya was installed on the throne of Hastinapur.
- When Vichitravirya died childless, Satyavati had her son Vyas beget sons on Vichitravirya's widows, and thus were born Dhritrashtra and Pandu.
