Rohitashva / रोहिताश्व
- Rohitashva was a son of king Harishchandra.
- Chandramati, wife of Harishchandra, gave birth to Rohitashva, as a result of a blessing from Varun.
- Harishchandra had then vowed to sacrifice the child thus born, but having on various pleas deferred offering Rohitashva as promised, was afflicted by a dropsy. The king at last purchased Shunahsheph who was offered as a victim in Rohitashva's stead.
