Panchvati / पंचवटी

Panchvati is a place in the Dandak forest, near the Godavari river, where Ram, along with Lakshman and Sita, passed a period of his banishment.

  • This place was suggested to them by the sage Agastya.
  • It was from here that Sita was abducted by Ravan.
