Brahma / ब्रह्मा
- Brahma is the hindu god and the first member of the Hindu triad.
- He is the supreme spirit manifested as the active creator of the universe.
- He is said to have been born from an golden egg and then created the earth and all things on it.
- Hence he is also known as Prajapati, the creator of the world.
- He also created the ten Prajapatis or mind-born sons which then completed the creation.
- Certain myths describe him as being born in a lotus which issued from Vishnu's navel.
- Originally, Brahma had five heads, but one was cut off by Shiv with his left hand. His four heads now represent the four Veds, four Yugs and the four castes.
- His vehicle is a swan.
